Advantages of Laser Resurfacing

Why suffer with problem skin, thanks to our Pixel, Erbium YAG and UltraPulse CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing, IPL and HiFU skin tightening treatments that will be a problem of the past. Skin lasering is typically to the face but other areas of the body can be treated too, such as the neckline, torso and legs. It is important to explore and discuss all options because although the Pixel laser is the more well-known, Erbium YAG and UltraPulse CO2 treatments may offer a more suitable treatment and result for you. The Erbium YAG and UltraPulse CO2 Lasers are very effective treatments for scarring but may need multiple sessions.

Lasering is particularly good for sun damage, uneven skin texture, scars, mature acne scars and wrinkles and fine lines.

Pixel Laser Procedure

The Pixel Laser emits a beam of light at high-energy that is aimed at damaged or ageing skin. The epidermis and upper dermis is removed by the laser triggering the body’s natural healing process which promotes the growth of new skin. It is a targeted laser treatment meaning it works on your problem areas, leaving the rest of your skin untouched. Pixel can be used on most light to dark skins. A course of treatments will be necessary but once completed the results are permanent.

Skin Remodelling (Erbium YAG) Procedure

The Erbium YAG skin remodelling Laser emits a beam of light at high-energy targeting damaged or ageing skin. The epidermis and upper dermis is removed by the laser triggering the body’s natural healing process which promotes the growth of new skin. It is a targeted laser treatment meaning it works on your problem areas, leaving the rest of your skin untouched. Erbium YAG can be used on most light to dark skins.

UltraPulse CO2 Procedure

This is the latest generation in skin resurfacing technologies by Lumenis. It is the most effective single session laser skin treatment for lines, wrinkles, sun damaged skin, stretch marks and uneven skin tone with a 14 day downtime. We offer 4 different types of UltraPulse CO2 treatments, with different benefits.

Each of these treatments delivers a unique set of results. Your suitability can be determined at a consultation. ActiveFX laser resurfacing may suit people with very fine lines and damage, on the other hand TotalFX offers the deepest and most extensive treatment. ScaarFX mode is used for thick deep scars

Procedure & Aftercare

Anaesthetic cream is usually placed on the skin 45 minutes before the treatment. Photos are taken and the consent form signed. Then the skin is cleaned of any debris and anaesthetic cream. The eyes are protected with laser googles. Local anaesthetic nerve blocks may be used. The lasering is then performed. After the laser treatment the skin is cooled with a mask. Vaseline is applied and then you are free to go home.

Once your treatment is complete, you will be free to leave. You may find that your skin takes on a healthy glow immediately following the softer laser treatments. For the medium to aggressive laser treatments we will usually ask you to continue with specific written instructions for your aftercare.

THE RESULTS

All of our procedures can completely rejuvenate and revitalise your skin. You may only require a small targeted zone or a full face treatment may be of more benefit. After treatment the texture of the skin is visibly smoother, while lines and wrinkles on the face, neck, upper chest and hands are dramatically reduced. If you have had laser skin resurfacing for other reasons, your problem areas will have been stripped away, leaving you with fresh, more even skin.

Downtime

PixelEach session requires very little downtime and it is usually possible to return to work straight after a treatment session but you may prefer to spend one or two days at home.
