PRP is the common term for Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy. This treatment uses your own blood to stimulate new collagen production. This helps to smooth out the signs of ageing on your face and hands.

Platelets in our blood work to heal tissue damage in our skin and hair follicles. A tube is filled with small amount of blood from your arm and spun in a customised centrifuge. During the spinning the platelets and plasma separate from the red blood cells. The “platelet rich” plasma is extracted and the injected back.

Advantages of Vampire Facelift

The Vampire Facelift involves blood being taken from your body (like a blood test) then put into a machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets. A tiny amount (8-20ml) of your own blood will be drawn. This is done in a similar way to when you have blood taken for testing at the doctor’s office.

The blood will then be spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet plasma from the red blood cells.

Any makeup on the skin will be removed using a wipe, and antiseptic will be applied to the injection site. A topical local anaesthetic will then be applied to the skin of the injection site for 20-30 minutes.

The PRP will then be introduced into the skin, with aseptic technique, in the desired area using a very fine microneedling or injections.

Platelets release growth factors that help the body repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. So as well as improving the skin tone, the treatment also promotes healthy skin growth and collagen production so skin appears plumper and more vibrant.

PrP and Vampire Facelift Procedure

A small vial of blood is collected from the arm. This tube is then spun for 5 minutes. The prepared PrP is then placed in a syringe and then micro-injections are used to place it into dermis of the skin. The whole procedure take less than 45 minutes.

PrP and Vampire Facelift Aftercare

We will usually place a face mask on your skin to calm it down. We advice that you do not massage it yourself. You can wash your face the next morning. Arnica cream can help reduce any swelling or bruising that you may have after 1 day.
