Advantages of Anti-wrinkle Injections
Nowadays this is a common aesthetic treatment. It reduces wrinkles and lines and may prevent future ones or worsening of the lines. It may be used as part of a treatment plan when treating the face as a whole.
It has truly revolutionised the treatment of ageing skin.
It is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure performed by doctors in the UK. Anti-wrinkle injections are unparalleled for the treatment of forehead lines. In fact, they may have a similar effect as a surgical brow lift. Anti-wrinkle injections are excellent for removing wrinkles around the eyes.
It is an extremely safe procedure. In our clinics, we use it with great success to give a softened more youthful appearance without the “frozen look”.
Anti-wrinkle Injection procedure
Normally this is a quick procedure, however, numbing cream is available at request. Small injections are placed under the skin with an ultra-fine needle placing a tiny amount of the product in the facial muscles causing wrinkles. 5-10 minutes after the procedure you will appear normal and are ready to leave.
Anti-wrinkle Injections Aftercare
You are advised to stay upright and to try to exercise the areas treated for 2-4 hours following the injections. Avoid massaging these areas as this will prevent diffusion of Botulinum toxin solution to surrounding muscles.

Individuals with a history of a neuromuscular disorder such as multiple sclerosis (MS) or Guillian-Barre Syndrome are not candidates for Botulinum Toxin A. You cannot receive Botulinum Toxin A if you have an infection where the Botulinum Toxin A will be injected, are allergic to any of the ingredients in Botulinum Toxin A or are pregnant. Some conditions may increase the chance of infection. Our doctor/nurse will review your medical history before you receive Botulinum Toxin A.
Botulinum toxin contains a highly purified protein, when injected in to the muscles the product relaxes the area and result in a reduced muscle activity. It therefore softens lines and wrinkles. It takes approximately 1 to 2 weeks to see the effect of the injected Botulinum toxin.
No. This is a reversible treatment and there are no permanent effects. In fact, your skin is likely to have benefited from the period of reduced muscle contraction, as wrinkle formation is slower during this time.
You are advised to stay upright and to try to exercise the areas treated for 2-4 hours following the injections. Avoid massaging these areas as this will prevent diffusion of Botulinum toxin solution to surrounding muscles.
